Degrémont wins its 100th contract in China Degrémont, a subsidiary of the water business of Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux, recently won its one hundredth contract in China. Under the terms of the agreement, Degrémont will design and build a drinking water production plant in the town of Duyun, in Guizhou province. The contract is part of a policy initiated by the Chinese government to develop infrastructure in western China.
Degrémont has been present in China for 25 years, during which time it has demonstrated the efficiency of its technology offering and highlighted the benefits of turnkey contracts, a recent concept in China. GDWEC, the Degrémont subsidiary founded in 1995, has sought to fully involve Chinese industry in the development of its activity by offering equipment and services produced locally.
Degrémont has equipped China's main cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Xian and Xiamen with drinking water and wastewater facilities, totalling 10% of the total installed capacity.
In this way, Degrémont has positioned itself as the leading foreign company present on the Chinese market.
