Olivier Kreiss, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Degrémont will be appointed Vice President at Groupe GTM, in charge of international development, on 15 March 1999.
Christian Maurin has been appointed Vice President of Degrémont. He will be called upon to succeed Olivier Kreiss as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Degrémont on 15 March 1999. Groupe GTM and Degrémont are two subsidiaries of the Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux group.

Olivier Kreiss, 56, is a graduate of the Ecole des Mines (advanced school of engineering) and of the Institut d'Administration des Affaires (Business administration school). He joined the Shell group in 1965, first as engineer, then as Administrative Director of the Petit Couronne Refinery, and finally as financial supervisor of all of the group's South American subsidiaries. In 1975 he left Shell to become Chief Administrative Officer of Transnucléaire. In 1976 he joined Serete (a project engineering firm) as head of sales in Africa, before being appointed Sales Manager, Exports in 1980. In 1986 Olivier Kreiss joined Degrémont as Deputy Chief Executive, Sales. He was named Chief Executive Officer of Degrémont in 1988 and from 1992 became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Degrémont.

Christian Maurin, 51, is a graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques (Paris School of Political Science) and the Ecole Nationale d'Administration. He began his career as an Auditor at the State Audit Court (1974), then carried out various missions within the French Civil Service. In 1978 he joined the French Treasury Department in the Secretariat to the Executive Council of the FDES (French fund for social and economic development). In 1979 he was named Advisor to the State Audit Court. He joined the DATAR (town and country planning agency) in 1980 as a Special Financial Advisor, then Managing Director from 1982 to 1985. In June 1985 Christian Maurin was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Banque Sofinco (Suez Group), becoming Chairman and CEO in September 1991. He joined Banque Indosuez in 1996, being appointed Chairman of the Board of Management in March of that year.
