26/09/98 Groupe GTM (Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux) donates 5 water treatment mini-stations to the Dominicain Republic
Due to the crisis in the Dominicain Republic caused by Hurricain George, Groupe GTM (Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux) wishes to give its assistance by offering 5 water treatment mini-stations to the population in need of a water supply. This equipment, designed and produced by Aquassistance (Lyonnaise des Eaux), works by a method of sand filtration producing 5m3 of drinking water an hour per machine. In the present shortage situation the machines will enable daily distribution to 120,000 people.
This action has been undertaken following the French Government’s assistance programme put into place for the Dominicain Republic.
Mr Jérôme Monod, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux will be in Saint Domingue on Saturday September 26 to meet with the local authorities on the island.
