Degrémont, a subsidiary of Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux, has been awarded three contracts to build drinking water treatment plants in France.
The future treatment plant at Thouars (west-central France) will have a capacity of 17,000 m3/day and will implement Degrémont's proprietary Nitrazur? and Carbazur® processes to achieve high removal rates for nitrates and pesticides. The plant will also be equipped to treat waste wash water by lagooning, to prevent discharge directly into the environment.
In Lower Normandy, the installation to be built by Degrémont will supply drinking water to the population south of Avranches. The plant will have a capacity of 12,000 m3/day and implement the Cristal? process. The latter combines the use of ultrafiltration membranes with powdered activated carbon to removal all types of pollutants as well as taste and odour, producing drinking water of exceptionally high quality.
The same process has been selected for the future drinking water treatment plant to be built in southwest France on behalf of the local water authority (Syndicat de la Viadène), with a capacity of 6,000 m3/day.
Degrémont is present throughout France via a network of regional branch offices. These three contract awards attest to the company's ability to propose innovative and competitive solutions to its customers.
