Degrémont signs a new BOT agreement in Mexico

Degrémont recently brought into effect a BOT agreement concerning two municipal wastewater treatment plants to be built in Ciudad Juarez (Mexico), along the Mexican-U.S. border. The contract calls for the construction and operation of two plants, one with a capacity of 200,000 cu.m/d and another of 80,000 cu.m/d capacity.

The financing package, a total value of 27 million dollars revolves around loans arranged through Banobras (a Mexican state-owned bank which specialises in the financing of infrastructure projects) and Nadbank (a bilateral Mexican/American development lending institution specialising in infrastructure projects in the border region). Additional financing has been secured in the form of public subsidies from Mexico (Finfra) and the United States (EPA).
