American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE:AWK) announced today that it has agreed to purchase Anglian Water Plc.'s interest in AmericanAnglian Environmental Technologies, L.P., (AAET), for an undisclosed amount. This transaction will allow American Water Works Company to better focus on a growing segment of the water and wastewater marketplace in a way that complements its current operations. American Water Works Company has $5 billion in assets, over 4,500 employees and is the largest publicly traded water company in the United States. AAET manages and operates 146 water and wastewater facilities and is the seventh largest contract operations and maintenance firm in the United States.
