Prague become Anglian Water's central European headquarters

Today, Anglian Water has announced that Prague in the Czech Republic, will become it’s Central European headquarters.

As well as the United Kingdom, in Europe alone, the Anglian Water group has offices in the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Poland, Germany, Norway, Sweden and Ireland.

In the Czech Republic, the company already provides services to more than 10 per cent of the population and is pursuing other opportunities, including the forthcoming Prague privatisation of water and wastewater services.

Commenting at the Prague press conference Tony Eckford, managing director of Anglian Water International, said: “We are delighted to announce Prague as the base for our Central European activities. In the Czech Republic alone, we’ve been operating successfully for almost a decade, winning contracts in a very competitive market.

“Only yesterday, we signed a further contract to provide water and wastewater services to 65,000 customers in Beroun, which lies to the west of Prague. This latest win clearly demonstrates our commitment to both the Czech Republic and the region.

“Our strategy of promoting the company’s top-quality service has helped us gain as many customers globally as we have in the United Kingdom. We are a world leader on critical issues such as water leakage reduction. On the strength of our leakage reputation, we recently won two major leakage contracts in Bangkok, Thailand, and are looking to build on this success globally.

“We are investing heavily in the Czech Republic and have established very good working relationships which we hope to build on in the coming months and years.
