Anglian Water Date: 02/05/2000 New Release
Water your habits
Are we a water wise nation, or a nation of water wasters? Well by filling in the biggest ever survey of national water habits at www. anglianwater.co.uk/survey we will know the answer by the end of the month.
May is national water month, and Anglian Water is keen to find out all about the nation’s water habits. Questions range from water use in the bathroom to water use in the garden. And there are some fun questions too if people are game enough to fill them in.
Anglian Water operates in the driest part of the country and has always been keen to find out how customers use water. For the past eight years Anglian Water has been studying the water habits of some 3,000 properties in its region. This has helped Anglian Water improve the management of its water resources and to understand customers’ needs.
Gareth Rondel, Anglian Water’s water conservation officer, said: ” Water is vital for life and Anglian Water has always been responsible when it comes to managing this vital resource. Through good water management we have seen the demand for water in the east of England flatten out despite the fact that we live in the driest part of the country and in an area that is rapidly expanding.
“An important way of managing water is knowing what our customers are doing with it. Through this survey we hope to find out more about the nation’s water habits. And if we can suggest a few water saving tips or can learn a few tricks from our customers this will make national water month a success.”
The survey can only be filled in on the Internet at www. anglianwater.co.uk/survey
People taking part in the survey can enter a competition to win a free weekend at Anglian Water’s premier reservoir, Rutland Water.
