Ondeo (SUEZ) takes 100% control of Eurawasser
Ondeo Services (SUEZ) announced it has finalised, on 3rd January 2002, the acquisition of ThyssenKrupp Serv AG shares in their 50/50 German joint venture: Eurawasser Aufbereitungs - und Entsorgungs GmbH.
Since 1991, Ondeo Services, formerly Lyonnaise des Eaux, and ThyssenKrupp have held an equal interest in their French-German joint venture that supplies water and waste water services to municipalities in Germany. Henceforth, Eurawasser is a fully-owned Ondeo Services company.
This acquisition will strengthen SUEZ’s presence in Germany, a market with a high growth potential. ThyssenKrupp Serv is withdrawing from the German municipal water and wastewater management sector in order to fully concentrate on developing its core industrial services business.
Eurawasser has over 500 employees and an average yearly turnover of 75 million euros. The company currently manages water and waste water services for approximately 600 000 customers, amongst others, in Rostock, Leuna and Goslar. Ondeo Services, the world’s leading water and wastewater management services company, currently serves over 115 million people throughout the world. The company employs 48 000 people and registered turnover of 5,6 billion euros in 2000.
