Degrémont, filiale de SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT et son partenaire Transfield Services, ont été
sélectionnés par la Western Australia Public Water Utility, la Water Corporation, organisme public
australien de gestion de l’eau, pour l’exploitation et la maintenance des installations de production
d’eau potable et d’assainissement de Perth, la quatrième ville d’Australie.
Ce contrat porte sur l’exploitation et la maintenance, en partenariat avec Water Corporation et
Transfield Services, de 19 usines de production d’eau potable, 14 stations d’épuration et 2 centres de
recyclage des eaux utilisant des technologies de pointe ainsi que 13 barrages. Le contrat qui prendra
effet en juillet 2012 pour une période de 10 ans, est assorti d’une possibilité de prolongation de 5
ans. Il représente un chiffre d’affaires total de 294 millions d’euros (378 millions d’AUD) pour la
période initiale.
Degrémont, Transfield Services et Water Corporation vont gérer le contrat dans le cadre d’une
Alliance

le partage des risques et des profits entre l’opérateur et le client.] nommée « Aroona ». Les objectifs de cette Alliance portent notamment sur la performance
environnementale et l'amélioration des services offerts aux un million et demi d'habitants de la ville
de Perth : distribution d'une eau d’excellente qualité, et protection de l’eau, ressource précieuse pour
les générations futures de l’ouest de l’Australie.
Avec ce contrat, la Water Corporation renouvelle sa confiance dans le savoir-faire de Degrémont,
filiale de SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT qui a déjà construit et exploite actuellement l’usine de dessalement
de Perth. Ce nouveau contrat confirme la forte présence SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT sur le marché
australien.

Aroona consortium has been selected to partner with the Water Corporation to deliver high quality and cost-effective water and wastewater services in the Perth and Mandurah area.
Water Corporation General Manager Metropolitan Customer Services Graham Cargeeg said Aroona, which comprises of Degremont Pty Ltd and Transfield Services, would partner with the Water Corporation to deliver operations, maintenance and asset management services in the collection and treatment of water and the treatment of wastewater.
"While this contract is new, we have been partnering effectively with the private sector for maintenance work for the past 15 years," Mr Cargeeg said.
"Both of these companies have a long water industry history in Australia and internationally.
"The contract is worth $378 million over ten years and will save on the existing operating budget."
Mr Cargeeg confirmed that no Water Corporation employees or employees of the current partner would lose their jobs as part of the contract.
"We still own the water supply and wastewater assets and will manage and have ultimate accountability for ensuring the community has quality water and wastewater services in Western Australia," he said.
"The tender process started in 2010 with a review of the existing Alliance, which has been in operation for the last 15 years."
The existing partner, PSN Water, provided maintenance for water production and wastewater treatment assets.
Mr Cargeeg said the new integrated alliance would combine the benefits of a private partner such as commercial drivers, new solutions and technologies with the benefits of the Corporation's local technical knowledge, which would lead to improved services to customers.
The Aroona Alliance will begin in July 2012.
